Boise set a new high temperature record today. What do you do to entertain kids when it is so hot? We actually had our best summer day so far this year. We met Hannah and the boys at Remi's grandparent's pool for a few hours. On the way to the pool we picked up a few milkshakes from Sonic, which always makes a summer day better. It was Riggin's first time swimming and I'm sure he would have had a great time if it hadn't been nap time and if Remi hadn't put 16 layers of sunscreen on him. The tired little boy started rubbing his eyes and got sunscreen in them. After we flushed his eyes with clean water Betsy saved the day by taking him on a walk so he could take his nap. Race was a little fish and stayed in the pool almost the whole time we were there. Sorry no pictures. Remi had the camera, so I'm in every shot wearing my swimming suit and I'm not posting those!
After swimming we went home, ate lunch, watched the Disney Channel movie Sixteen Wishes for the 16th time, and took naps. Then Hannah and the boys came over and hit the slip n slide. Betsy rode her bike and started a four square game when she got here. It takes patience to play four square with 2 four year olds and a seven year old. As they were playing the weather started to change. The kids decided to lie down on the driveway and watch the lightning. When it started to rain they jumped in the back of Hannah's car to watch a movie.
Meanwhile Remi was inside making dinner. We had a quick visit from Anita and Remi's cousin Patrick came over for dinner. He is staying in Nampa this summer to play baseball. He had all the kids laughing. Dinner was excellent. It was great getting together with family and having great food. Of course Race cried when it was time for the boys to go home.
